Wow! Tokyo was a complete onslaught of sensory overload. We all flew into town from our respective separate airports (Paul & Asher from PDX, Roland from New Orleans, Andy and Victor from Philly) and converged at around the same time at Narita.
Upon arrival, the need for some food was apparent and so we hunted down dinner and walked around a bit. We all went to a restaurant and sat down for some satay skewers and other assorted small plates.
I ended up going to bed about 11:30 and woke up about 5:30am and found a Starbucks that didn't open until 6:30am, so I had time to take in the early morning hours of Shibuya, the area where we stayed. It was eerily quiet that time of the day and peaceful.
Later that day, we did the soundcheck and in the evening, played the gig. Everyone seemed to have loved it! I felt a bit jet-lagged but managed to soldier through and hopefully no one noticed too much, LOL.
We left our gear set up and came back the next night for a second show at the venue.
