Birmingham! Gray, dark and funky. I woke up that morning on the bus and walked out and knew exactly where we were; I had been there in 2010 while on tour with Earl Thomas. We were near The Custard Factory in Digbeth and it's easily one of the most artsy places I've ever been.
I had dinner at "The Old Crown" which opened its doors in 1368. What an energy that place held. I had the bangers & mash. Victor (Arruda, our "merch babe", young as he is...) came in and we began singing that Infant Sorrow tune "Bangers, Beans & Mash" and cracking up.
We played at The Mill and it was a great set. The crew were awesome! However, the showers were lukewarm (for me anyway). I cherish hot water. It was starting to get cold there.
